Elon Musk Is Heaps Keen To Fly To Mars And Just Straight-Up Die There

Eccentric entrepreneur, Elon Musk, has said in an interview that he’s actually pretty keen to fly on over to Mars and die there. In fact, he’s given himself a 70 per cent chance of doing exactly that as soon as technology will allow it.

“I know exactly what to do,” Musk said in an interview with Axios. “I’m talking about moving there.” Old mate also acknowledged that such a move would very likely result in his death. “We think you can come back but we’re not sure.”

“Your probability of dying on Mars is much higher than on Earth,” he said. “It’s gonna be hard. There’s a good chance of death, going in a little can through deep space.”

It’s kinda difficult to know whether the Tesla founder is being serious or not at the moment, given his recent erratic behaviour and a work ethic which amounts to pretty much never sleeping. Either way, Musk reckons such a journey will be possible in roughly seven years and cost “around a couple hundred thousand dollars” per person.

But should he survive the journey, there won’t be much time for smoking blunts, stating that he’ll be working “nonstop to build the base”.

“And even after doing all this, it’s a very harsh environment. So … there’s a good chance you die there. We think you can come back but we’re not sure. Now, does that sound like an escape hatch for rich people?”

Bill Nye the Science Guy recently told USA Today that Musk should just give up on the idea of colonising Mars because living there would blow goats, and he’s absolutely right. “Nobody’s gonna go settle on Mars to raise a family and have generations of Martians,” he said.

“It’s not reasonable because it’s so cold. And there is hardly any water. There’s absolutely no food, and the big thing, I just remind these guys, there’s nothing to breathe.”

Will Musk stick to his word and become the first person to visit, smoke weed, and die on Mars? I guess we’ll find out in about seven years.
