Colossal Nerd Creates A Monster RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Park Over 10 Years

There are some video games that stand the test of time incredibly well. One such masterpiece is 2002’s theme park-building simulator, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.

We all dive back into an old game every now and then just to re-live the good times. Nostalgia is a powerful drug. Not for Reddit user I-am-Prime, though, who’s been riding the wave for 10 years, making you all mere posers by comparison.
Old mate Prime just a couple of days ago laid the finishing touches on a theme park that’s been in the works for the better part of a decade. It has 34 roller coasters, 255 shops and attractions and a monorail that’s been ridden by a million tiny, pixelated people.
Like many others, Prime used OpenRCT2 to create the monstrous park. It allows users to fix bugs, apply HD upgrades and mod the game in ways that make such creations possible. This mammoth creation, for example, would have been created without the constraints of money because, well, fucking look at it.
Prime posted an update of the project a little while back that highlights the progress made pretty clearly, whereas the recent changes are harder to detect unless you get up real close. You can do that, by the way. Check it out the massive top-down image right here

That warehouse-looking building in the left corner? That’s a massive indoor roller coaster, no big deal.
The right corner is called Tron and the bottom corner is Egypt. You can kinda work out the themes from there.
Kudos to you, Prime, that’s one hell of a bloody theme park. Suss out some close ups below.
