Apple announced a whole bunch of new stuff at their WWDC keynote this morning including some new iPads, MacBooks and a schmick home assistant speaker.
They also spilled the beans on the upcoming iOS 11 update which, among a heap of other cool shit, will let you pay your mates through iMessage.
No longer will you have to painstakingly copy your mate’s bank details into a separate banking app to send them money. Hell no. Soon you’ll be able to do it all in the one place.
There’s even an option to request money if you’re into the whole passive aggressive thing.
Of course, you won’t be able to send across platforms, the recipient will also need to be on an iPhone and have their Apple Pay account set up.
Only a few banks support Apple Pay in Australia right now, but that will likely change as demand for features like this increase.
Other new iOS 11 features include a redesigned Control Centre, upgrades to Siri and 3D maps for Apple Maps.
You won’t be able to get your hands on iOS 11 until our spring, but if you’re super keen, you could probably squeeze your way into an early developer version.
