HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING.
HBO’s entire social media presence was hacked earlier today, with messages from OurMine, a hacker group, appearing across Twitter and Facebook.
Literally as we wrote this story, tweets continued to appear and disappear on the HBO timelines, indicating that the hackers were tweeting the messages as fast as HBO could delete them.
HBO is hardly the first target of OurMine; the group has targeted the social media accounts accounts of Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Pokémon Go creator John Hanke, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmu Wales, as well as hacking into BuzzFeed after the website published an article linking OurMine to a Saudi Arabian teenager (the hacker group claimed the teen was only a ‘fan’ of the group, which is the ultimate burn).
