A Netflix-Style Subscription With 100+ Downloadable Games Is Coming To Xbox

The gaming market will be taking another step into the online realm this autumn as Microsoft announce its new monthly gaming subscription service for the Xbox One

For $10.95 per month, users will have access to more than 100 Xbox One and backwards compatible titles. Rather than work as a streaming service similar to Playstation Now, the Xbox Game Pass will allow the games to be individually downloaded to the players console.

“Some of the fan-favorite titles coming to Xbox Game Pass when it launches to the broader Xbox community later this spring include Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and SoulCalibur II,” wrote Microsoft’s Phil Spencer

Users will also have the option to purchase any game included in the subscription at a 20% discount to permanently add it to their own library.

The pass will begin rolling out to select Xbox Insider members today. Xbox Live Gold subscribers will also be offered exclusive access ahead of its wider release in the coming months.

With more and more companies taking their catalogue of games online, physical game dealers must be shitting deeply within their pants right about now.
