If you’re a WhatsApp user of the Android persuasion, you’ll have enjoyed a little feature known as offline messaging since about June 2016. If you’re on iOS, however, you’ll know no such fun.
But don’t despair, pals, the latest update for the Facebook-owned app now includes the ability for iPhone users to send messages offline too.
Perplexed? Allow us to explain. You see, if you venture outside of the bounds of reception, sending a message won’t work. You’ll need to jump back into that conversation and resend the message when you have signal, which can be a real pain in your ass.
Now, all you have to do is send the message as you normally would and as soon as you hit that sweet reception again, the app will automatically push out any queued messages. Nifty.
On top of this, users are now treated to a reworked storage usage screen and the ability to send as many as 30 photos or videos at once. That’s… a lot.
For those who get storage anxiety, you’ll be able to clear out space-hungry videos or photos from specific threads via the settings tab.
Happy WhatsApp-ing.
