Horny artists, horny art consumers, and online curators of horny art were wildly dismayed back in December last year when Tumblr announced that they would be getting rid of all the horny filth that reportedly accounted for about a sixth of the site’s traffic. Those very dismayed people might have some reason to feel a glimmer of hope, with Buzzfeed reporting that Pornhub is “extremely interested” in acquiring the site.

Following a report from the Wall Street Journal that Tumblr’s parent company, Verizon, was looking to sell the site off, Pornhub’s vice president said in an email that they were quite keen to pick it up, indicating that they would like to see it returned to its old ways: “Tumblr was a safe haven for those who wanted to explore and express their sexuality, adult entertainment aficionados included. We’ve long been dismayed that such measures were taken to eradicate erotic communities on the platform, leaving many individuals without an asylum through which they could comfortably peruse adult content.”
This is a bit of a turn around on how the company seemingly felt about Tumblr back in 2011:
