The Reviews Are In For ‘Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ & It’s A Deluge Of 10s

The much-hyped Nintendo Switch was released today along with its flagship game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

If you had any doubts about the latest instalment of the 30-year-old series, please throw them directly into the fucking ocean, because the reviews are in and they’re nothing but pure praise.
Presenting a completely open world, gorgeous anime-styled visuals and a subtle, but meaningful soundtrack, the third-person action adventure epic is a game you simply must have.
No, this is not a fucking joke. IGN, for starters, have given the game a perfect 10/10, dubbing it “a masterclass in open-world design and a watershed game that reinvents a 30-year-old franchise”.
“And even after I’ve spent more than 50 hours searching the far reaches of Hyrule, I still manage to come across things I haven’t seen before. I’ll easily spend 50 to 100 more trying to track down its fascinating moments.”

Sweet merciful crap. I’ve never been more depressed about not having a spare $500 to spend on a console.
Kotaku called it “Triumphant. Groundbreaking. The pinnacle of Zelda”.
“Breath of the Wild is the best Zelda game to date, and it accomplishes that simply by saying yes.”
Continuing the shower of perfect scores, Gamespot gave it a 10/10, simply calling it “essential”.
“No matter how gorgeous its environments are, how clever its enemies are, and how tricky its puzzles get, the fact that Breath of the Wild continues to surprise you with newfound rules and possibilities after dozens of hours is by far its most valuable quality.”

GameInformer gave it – you guessed it – another perfect score.

“It represents a profound new direction for one of gaming’s best franchises and a new high point for open-world interactive experiences.”

And finally, Metro.co.uk could not love it any more.

“The best Zelda there’s ever been and, and very possibly the best video game ever made.”

Holy. Fuck.
Of course, the game isn’t completely without fault. Most mention some frame rate dips in high activity sections, but that comes down to the Switch rather than the game itself. Regardless, y’all agree that it’s very, very good.

Welp, if anyone wants me, I’ll be crying into my empty wallet.
