People love a bloody good extended line up, don’t they? Tents, camping chairs and good times are what it’s all about, friends.
We made it out to the iPhone 7 launch in the Sydney CBD this morning and let me tell you, the punters were all about the long-haul street squatting. We spoke to the kids at the very front of the line to see how they went and the results were exceptionally hardcore.
“We’ve been here since 10am Wednesday morning,” said 16-year-old Marcus Barsoum. But the biggest hurdle wasn’t the rough pavement, it was the rough streets.
“We got kicked,” he said while laughing. “They said ‘why are you getting the iPhone ya idiots!?’”
Samsung fans are vicious. But one of Marcus’ mates said the ruckus was from a drunker source.
“All the clubs are along here, so we got a lot of drunk people,” he said. A note to drunk clubbers – please don’t kick children.
We headed to the Telstra store across the road where more hardcore customers were waiting for their chance to froth the iPhone 7.
Shortly after, we got our grubby mitts on the phone itself. Suss out our live stream below.
