Tech Nerds Are Dead Certain These Leaked Images Of The iPhone 8 Are Legit

As the official Apple announcement rolls closer, more and more iPhone 8 rumours seem to be popping up everywhere. Some of them are credible, but others are just piles of hot trash.

According to a number of tech pundits, the company will be announcing an iPhone 7s, 7s Plus and the redesigned iPhone 8 in September, marking the iconic smartphone’s 10th anniversary.
As expected, the 7s series will be slightly improved versions of the latest model, the main change being the introduction of wireless charging.
The latest leak, however, is a set of images claiming to be the first look at an iPhone 8 prototype.

According to BGR, the prototype was made using finalised schematics leaked from the phone’s manufacturer, including three different models expected to be released later this year.
As rumoured, it appears the Home button has been ditched, along with the fingerprint scanner that was said to be moving to the back of the device.
Allegedly, the new model will have a stainless steel frame sandwiched between two glass panels with a slight curve, aiming to give the appearance of a continuous sheet of glass.
Like Samsung‘s latest offering, the Galaxy S8, the iPhone 8 is tipped to have an edge-to-edge, 5.8 inch OLED display. The TouchID sensor will likely be embedded within this.
The dual camera system showcased in the iPhone 7 is also present, this time running vertically as opposed to the former’s horizontal setup. This could be for the new augmented reality features Apple will announce alongside the phone.
Is it credible? Well, it’s hard to say for sure, but given the announcement is only months away, the schematics, if legit, would almost certainly be finalised at this stage.
