Hold onto ya god damn hats, Apple fans, ‘cos we’re about to dish out some fresh rumours about the next iPhone.
According to KGI Securities‘ Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 8 could have a curved, ‘edgeless display’, stating the company has been toying with the idea for some time. The so-called “best Apple analyst on the planet” also reckons there will be three premium models launched in 2017 instead of the two that usually drop.
All models will allegedly have a glass unibody chassis, wireless charging and thinner, OLED panels will replace the current LCD displays.
It’s a shakeup that’s so desperately needed by Apple following their recent sales slump, so Kuo’s “leaks” actually hold a fair bit of water. Ironic, no?
The 9to5Mac website is also joining the rumour party, stating the company will also ditch the home button, first on the new iPad, then on the phone later in 2017. This will allow them to reduce the size of the phones without having to compromise with a smaller display. NICE.
We won’t know for sure until next year but if you ask me, it’s time for drastic redesign, ‘cos they’ve beating the same old dead horse for far too long.
