Snapchat’s Creepo New Update Will Share Your Location With Your Mates

Snapchat is today letting its users share their location with friends in a new feature they call Snap Map

Once you’ve downloaded the update you’ll be able to access the map by doing a pinch motion on the main screen. If your mates have the feature turned on, you’ll see their little Bitmoji hanging out at their last known location. 
Knowing how much background app tracking pisses off people (and rightly so), the company made it very clear that your location is only logged and updated when the app is open. If it’s closed for a while, you’re Bitmoji will disappear from the map altogether until you jump back in. 
And don’t worry, this is an opt-in feature, meaning it’s set to off by default. 
The map will also show you where snaps shared to a group Our Story were taken and heat zones will indicate an area where a shitload of snaps are being taken. 
Snapchat recently included the ability to contribute to a group Story with your mates along with “limitless” snaps and looping video similar to Boomerang.
