How To Find Out What Your Old iPhone Is Worth Now You’ve Upgraded

With a flurry of new smartphones due to burst onto the scene by the end of the year, you’re probably planning on upgrading at some point soon, or maybe you already have.

If that’s the case, you might be wondering what to do with your old busted up phone. Sure, you can repurpose it as a dedicated iPod, but if you’re anything like me, you want that sweet, sweet cash money. Believe it or not, even a 3 or 4-year-old phone can score you a few hundred bucks.

The legends over at eBay have got a neat little calculator that’ll show you the trending average price for your unit based on it’s condition, accessories, size and colour. It’s been around for a little while, but seeing as everyone’s losing their shit over the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, it’s a good time to bring it to your attention once again.

My 64GB iPhone 6S, which is in good condition, could fetch me a tidy $477. Not bad for a 2-year-old phone.

Keep in mind that this calculator will only give you an estimate based on what’s already listed on eBay, so it’s not entirely accurate, but it’s a good ballpark figure you can ask for when it comes time to sell.

It’s also a little buggy in some areas. For example, if you add both “original box” and “headphones” as accessories, the price drops rather than rises. Each of those items added individually raise the price by about $10.

You can give it a go right bloody here.
