The world certainly isn’t short of Star Wars VR or even AR experiences these days, but I can guarantee you that this one is by far the cutest of the lot.
Created by ILMxLAB, Star Wars: Droid Repair Bay puts you into the shoes of a droid who repairs other droids. They wear shoes, right? It sounds pretty simple, but the 10 minute experience does an amazing job of pulling you into the movie’s eccentric universe.
It’s certainly not as chaotic as some of the other experiences getting around, but that doesn’t make it any less fun. You use a crane to bring each new droid over to your table and use your hand controls to inspect and repair them. Once your work is complete, you test out the little fella by pointing a laser at the ground for it to chase just like a cat. It’s entertaining as hell.
Throughout the experience, those tiny little ball robots will be buzzing around your feet as you repair the actual BB-8, creating a level of immersion not many experiences are able to pull off. It’s lighthearted fun that’ll have you giggling like a child the whole time. Check out the trailer below.

The free (yep, totally free) VR experience is available right now on Samsung Gear VR at all Samsung stores. If you’re a fan of the Star Wars universe, you absolutely need to give this a whirl.
Nothing feels more rewarding in this life than a droid’s approving “WEEOOOWWWW” as you put them back together.
