It’s the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon games, and to celebrate, the company behind them is giving us not one but two new titles to look forward to, one of them a remake of a classic, the other an intriguing, all-new open-world adventure.
The first of these is Pokémon Legends Arceus, an open-world prequel that will see the player explore the Sinnoh region in its early days, when it was still a vast wilderness. Not much else is known, but the game promises “immersive” mechanics and the ability to “seamlessly” enter battles.
As the title suggests, the story will see the player uncovering the secrets of the mythical Arceus. A new teaser, released today, has a distinctly Breath Of The Wild-ish look about it, so we’ll see how much the games actually have in common when it launches in 2022.

Before this game launches, though, fans will be getting another fun little hit of of nostalgia in the form of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, remakes of the classic Nintendo DS games from 2006, which will be out later this year on Switch.
The remakes are said to be “faithful” to the originals, while including a few quality-of-life improvements for the modern gamer. You can go ahead and check out a video below:
