Oh Shit, Dolmio Legit Made That WiFi-Blocking Pepper Mill It Bigged Up

How many times have your folks nagged you to put away your bloody phone at the dinner table? I’d hazard a guess at ‘several’.
Well the pasta wizards over at Dolmio have gifted your mum the ultimate present – The Pepper Hacker.
One glorious twist of the innocuous looking grinder will deny internet access to a maximum of four WiFi dependent devices. Now you have to listen to the certified, side-splitting jokes your dad is bound to bust out.
When activated, affected devices will display “It’s family dinnertime and the internet is not invited”. Harsh.
The idea was first pitched to audiences last year and was originally much more powerful, harnessing the ability to shut down a wider range of devices, like your tele. It was a real hit with the Dolmio crowd, but would require some rather extensive wiring to work in such a way. Despite this cruel, broken promise, the Mars brand are giving away 5,000 of these bad boys over the next few weeks, because that’s what the people want.
While it’s a fairly rad idea for parents with tech-addicted offspring, it’s only really gonna work for devices that need an internet connection. You can still access the wonders of the interwebs via 4G, after all.
