Waluigi Wasn’t In The Final ‘Smash Bros’ Lineup & The Internet Is Fuming

Nintendo ran its final Direct presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate today, revealing the remaining two fighters to round out the total 74. Unfortunately for Waluigi, he’s still not invited, and the internet is furious about it.

The first new character is Street Fighter classic, Ken, dishing out shiners all over the damn shop. Joining him is something called Incineroar, which is apparently a Pokémon, but I refuse to acknowledge any Pokémans after the OG 151. Fight me.

Nintendo also revealed the title’s Adventure Mode, along with the DLC you can expect moving forward. There’s also a new mechanic called Spirits, which are like little helper dudes who can assist you in battle by powering you up. They consist of a whole cast of new characters from just about every series you can think of and can be applied to your fighter in primary and secondary forms. It’s a pretty complicated system, so you can get more details in the video below.

There’s also a mention of new fighters available as part of the DLC, so maybe Waluigi could slide on in that way? We’ll have to wait and see, but for the meantime, the online world is venting its frustration and, uh, sadness, for a lack of Waluigi, but the addition of a literal plant, which is like the ultimate slight to his fans.

Classic gear. Nintendo sure isn’t keen on old mate joining the party. That was the last Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before its release on the 7th of December, so we now know just about everything there is to know about it, save for whatever is included in the DLC.

Don’t lose hope, folks. I still have a good feeling about old mate appearing in the future.
