The finalised list of new emojis for 2019 has been published, folks, and it kicks all kinds of ass. Like the last set which was introduced in October 2018, this one contains a wider range of options for those with disabilities.
The inclusive list has a range of new skin tones, relationship types, and representations for people with disabilities, like prosthetic arms and legs, hearing aids, and more. Beyond that, there are a bunch of new animals, foods, shape colours, and miscellaneous items.
There are a whopping 230 new characters in total, so I’m absolutely not going to list every sing one. I will, however, share with you some of my favourites.
The range of inclusive emojis, in particular, is amazing and even includes guide dogs, which I think you’ll agree, whips ass.
But wait, there are more animals, like an otter, sloth, flamingo and orangutan.
I also really enjoy the juice box emoji, which is labelled as “beverage box”. Look at this little guy.
There are also a bunch of new colours for the circle and square shapes, as well as a white and brown heart if that’s how you feel like expressing your love.
If you’ve ever needed an emoji to express, say, how little of a fuck you give, there’s a hand for that now, in addition to a Hindu temple, a plate of butter, and some nondescript shorts.
You can suss out some more highlights in the video below.
As always, it’ll take a while for these to appear on your phone, so you’ll have to wait a little longer for that sweet, sweet waffle emoji. It’s nice to know what’s on its way, though.
You can see the whole list here.
