Last year, a handful of Blizzard employees left the company to form their own called Second Dinner. While the new venture has been quiet since its inception, the team just announced that they’ve partnered with Marvel for their first game.

The team of five all worked on Blizzard’s successful game, Hearthstone, which has also become a very popular esports title. The indie studio was founded by former game director, Ben Brode, and executive producer, Hamilton Chu, joined by long-time Blizzard employees, Mike Schweitzer, Yong Woo, and Jomaro Kindred.
Announced via a YouTube video, the team don’t give too much away other than that they’ve received a large amount of funding and are working with Marvel for the upcoming game, which already has a working prototype. You can check out the clip for yourself below.
Second Dinner raised $30 million via a minority investment from a company called NetEase and is currently looking to expand its team to build the aforementioned game. “We think there’s a huge opportunity to make deep, satisfying games that are optimized for mobile, and we’re currently working on a game that we’re really excited about,” one of the job ads reads.
In other words, you can safely assume this will be a mobile-first game, but there are still plenty of questions to answer, the most important being which Marvel IP it centres around.
