A 45-year-old man has been arrested at his home in Huntington, Long Island after allegedly threatening a child who beat him at Fortnite.
According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Michael Aliperti was arrested at 1.40am on Tuesday morning on charges of second-degree aggravated harassment and acting in a manner to injure a child for allegedly threatening to shoot an 11-year-old, possibly at his school in Kings Park, New York. Police said that he made the threats over both voice messages and text over Xbox Live.
According to Newsday, Aliperti’s lawyer is arguing that his client is currently going through a “bitter divorce” and that “salty language is a two-way street” and that is “normal behaviour in the gaming community“.
Aliperti has plead not guilty and will appear in court on October 4.
