Liquid Glitter Phone Cases Y’all Love Recalled After Causing Chemical Burns

It seems there’s a price that comes with looking fabulous, and I’m not talking about the money. Victoria’s Secret has been selling those glitter iPhone cases that are seemingly everywhere, only these ones have been chemically burning people. Yikes.

As you’d expect, more than 200,000 of the cases are being recalled after a number of them leaked, causing burns, blisters and skin irritation. They’re made by MixBin Electronics and are generally distributed by Amazon, Henri Bendel, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch, and Victoria’s Secret.

Sold for the iPhone 6, 6S, and 7, there’s been 24 reported cases of the nasty burns worldwide so far, 19 of which were in the US. Some pretty gnarly images of the injuries have started popping up on social media.

One individual has reportedly suffered permanent scarring while another received burns and swelling to her face, neck, leg, upper body and hands.

MixBin have shared a list of all the units being recalled that you can check out here, but there are so many different varieties of the same case, it may be hard to know if yours is one of the burny ones. If you have any variety of glitter case, it’s probably best to err on the side of caution and stop using that shit.

There hasn’t been any incidents of phone case injury reported here in Australia yet, but I swear to dog, every second iPhone I see at the moment is wrapped in one of these things, so watch yourself, folks.
