You’d think there are only so many stories you can write about the feature-stealing battle between Instagram and Snapchat, but here we are again.
This time, Instagram have swiped Snap’s most notable functionality – the augmented reality facial filters, or, more commonly referred to as, “let’s be dogs!”
The classics are all here. The bunny ears, the nerd glasses, an array of crowns, etc, but that’s pretty much where it ends. Snapchat definitely have the wider variety at this stage.
In addition to the filters, the latest update also contains the Rewind feature, which, as you’d expect, reverses a captured video. Sounds familiar.
You can now also add hashtags to a story with a sticker and access an eraser tool that’ll remove selected additions to a picture.
To get amongst these new features, all you have to do is update your Instagram app. To access the camera filters, just swipe on over to your camera and tap the new icon in the bottom right corner.
The filters will work while using Boomerang, too.
To do a Rewind video, just swipe across the bottom of your camera until you get to Rewind. Easy.
