Insanely Lucky Gamer Saved From Stray Bullet By ‘Elder Scrolls’ Box Set

It’s one thing to say gaming saved your life, but has gaming ever taken a bullet for you?

It certainly did for Imgur user Velorok, who’s box set of the Elder Scrolls anthology caught an actual fucking bullet that came screaming through his apartment wall in the US
“While I was at my desk playing Prey last night I heard a sudden loud pop and the sound of breaking glass,” the Imgur post read. “At first I thought a light bulb had burst but soon noticed the cloud of drywall dust in the air and a bullet hole to the left of my monitor.”

Fucking hell. Along with the obvious relief the comes with being saved by 9 discs and some cardboard, Velorok was understandably bummed that his game was ruined.

“I started looking for where the bullet had ended up and my heart sunk as I saw this hole in my Elder Scrolls anthology,” the post continued, including more pictures of the savaged game that ate a goddamned bullet.

You can’t see the bullet because it’s not there. The police took it away as evidence, as you’d expect.
“I didn’t think to take a picture before the police came and they took the bullet for evidence, so no pic of that… sorry.”
He ended up losing 4 discs in total, but says the game’s publisher, Bethesda, have offered to replace the game for free, which is incredibly cool.
We reached out to Velorok who clarified just how close he came to death or a gnarly wounding. Folks, it was fucking close. The game was positioned under the left side of his monitor, “directly in the path between the bullet and my chest,” he told PEDESTRIAN.TV
If the case hadn’t been where it was, the situation would not have ended very well at all.
“From what I can figure the bullet would have gone somewhere between my heart and my arm, diagonally. I was sitting leaned back with my feet up on my bed which is next to my desk.”

He says the bullet came from the neighbouring apartment who are notorious for their loud arguments. Luckily, it sounds like they won’t be there much longer.
“I’ve talked to the apartment complex management and they said that any police report is grounds for eviction,” he said. “My neighbours are noisy but nothing like this before.”

Welp, one thing’s for certain. Had he taken that bullet to the knee, his adventuring days would be long gone.
