Far from just a simple costume, the collaboration between Capcom and CD Projekt Red will see players take on newly created missions as Geralt, all while using his “signature fighting style, seamlessly blending swordplay, combat magic, and an assortment of monster hunting equipment,” The Witcher creators said.
“Worlds will collide with the next big Monster Hunter: World collaboration – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! Step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia and leverage his expert monster hunting skills as you take on a unique quest line in Monster Hunter: World,” the trailer’s description reads. The new content will also blend RPG elements from The Witcher 3 with game mechanics from Monster Hunter: World, which is sure to create a pretty interesting hybrid.
The free update will be hitting PS4 and Xbox One first in early 2019, followed by a later release for PC. Beyond this, Monster Hunter: World will also be copping a major new expansion called Iceborne at some point later next year.
In other words, there’s a ton of fresh and interesting new content on the way for Monster Hunter fans.
