Two ‘Fortnite’ Champs Used Their Victory Speech To Talk Shit On The Game

A university Fortnite team recently used their victory in the Collegiate Starleague (CSL) to say that they, uh, don’t really like the game anymore.

Duos champions, Jack Stuttard and Ibrahim Diaz, called out the Epic Games title during their victory speech in what seems like an attempt at bringing its recent shortcomings to light. The University of Georgia team aren’t the only ones, either, with many fans criticising the game’s balance after recent updates.

“We don’t really like the game that much anymore, not gonna lie,” Stuttard said during the speech, which was streamed via Twitch“We’ll see what happens. Epic is kind of messing around a little bit with the way they are balancing everything.”

The host, who is clearly not thrilled with the response, asks Diaz for a “better” answer. “We’ve decided we don’t want to play competitive Fortnite anymore,” he responds.

You can see the video clip for yourself below.

The pair won $6,000 for beating the University of British Columbia in the semifinals, as well as the finals. They also breezed through the comp undefeated, which I’m sure you’ll agree is an impressive feat.

In terms of greater fan feedback, one of the criticisms players have is the recent addition of the Infinity Blade, which is overpowered and messes with the balance of the game. Epic, however, recently said that they will not be rolling back to Fortnite’s original game modes.

Along with Fortnite, the CSL includes tournaments for Apex Legends, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and more. As for Diaz and Stuttard, they say they’ll be moving on to either different games or “different stuff,” so, watch this space, I guess.
