Aldi Is Flogging A Year Of Unlimited Calls and Texts For 249 Dollarydoos

Mobile phone plans aren’t cheap these days, particularly if you want a top-tier handset to go along with it.

But Aldi, purveyor of cheap groceries and a sporadic collection of literally anything you can think of, are throwing a their own phone plan into the mix and let me tell you, it’s a bloody doozy.
For the extremely acceptable price of $249, you’ll get an entire year of unlimited calls and texts as well as 49GB of data that can be used at any time, hosted on Telstra‘s 4G and 3G networks.
That’s a measly $20.75 per month. Talk about some fucking VALUE. Here’s the juicy details of The Super Pack:
  • Unlimited standard calls can be made to fixed lines and mobiles regardless of network and include 13 and 1300 numbers.
  • Free calls to 1800 numbers.
  • Unlimited standard National SMS and MMS.
  • 42GB of fresh, crispy data to use any time.
  • You can top up your data to a maximum of 62GB – $15 for 2GB – which will expire at the end of the 1 year.
  • If you run out of data, you’ll be charged 5 cents per MB. Don’t run out of data.
  • Free voicemail retrieval or deposit.
Not very much bad at all. Let’s cover a few catches, though:
  • Business use is not available.
  • International roaming is only available in “some selected countries”.
  • Any MMS that includes video or audio will cost you $1 per message.
  • International numbers, satellite numbers or premium 19 numbers are not included in the free calls, SMS or MMS.
  • If you’re a weirdo that uses a Blackberry handset, you won’t be able to get on this due to your phone’s “operating system architecture”.
So if you have your own phone and want to save an actual shit-tonne of cash on your phone bills, Aldi have got you covered. Stocks are super limited though, so you might wanna head down to your local store at exactly now if you want one.
