RIP commuters of Melbourne, who were all simultaneously annoyed to death this afternoon when a computer error caused the entire rail network to grind to a halt.
According to The Age, at the peak of the disruption punters were stuck on board trains for almost an hour, and warned not to try to force the doors open in order to sprint to freedom (and toilets).
Passengers on-board services stopped between stations. DO NOT attempt to force doors open & alight from the train.. Listen for announcements

The massive delays started at about 4pm, and drove a punishing Uber surge city-wide until well after the system was brought back online at around 5:15.
It was cold. It was easily avoidable. It was numbingly, infuriatingly boring. And uh, yep, people are absolutely filthy about it.
I’m currently indefinitely stuck on a train. Time has stopped moving. I can’t remember the names of my family. It is cold. No-one is talking

The train started moving and then stopped. It is toying with us. It is sentient. It is feeding off our fear and hate.

The train is moving, but we’re gone. We never stood a chance. We were too pure for this world.

May they rest in peace.
