You Can Now Throw 3D Augmented Reality Objects Into Yr Drunken Snapchats

FacebookInstagram and Snapchat are stuck in a perpetual game of chasey, aren’t they?
The way I see it, the schoolyard looks a little like this:
Facebook is the oldest kid in the playground, and therefore the most popular – but he’s in Grade 6 now and he’s on the way out. Sure, the older generation appreciate him, but there are younger, faster kids nipping at his ankles.
Snapchat is the spritely, fun-loving class clown who’s secretly really smart. You could easily spend hours hanging out with her, pulling faces. She’s a little temperamental and hard to understand, though (not being able to ‘search’ for people on her platform is a major drawback).
Instagram is the best looking and most functional of the bunch. Constantly adapting while still staying true to his core values (sharing pictures), Insta is basically the bastard child of FB and Snap, and has milked the best qualities of the two platforms to become a mega hot giant.
Just this morning, we reported on Facebook’s new camera effects that are set to be released soon. But before you could say hey shit I think Facebook is catching up, Snapchat has come out and actually dropped some new features for you to play with right now
They’re called ‘World Lenses‘, and if you log into your snap now, you’ll see that you can now use your rear camera to deploy 3D graphics into your surroundings.

You can now add rainbows, clouds, friggen shakka and other wacky items to your surroundings in the social network’s latest venture into augmented reality.

Fun! Go try it!
