Despite his speech-stealing and hat-gifting showing last night, Molly Meldrum wasn’t actually the person most stoked on Samuel Johnson’s massive Logies succes. Footage of Johnson’s sister Connie watching his Silver Logie nod is rock-solid proof.
Connie, who has chosen to cease treatment for terminal cancer, was flanked by friends as she caught her brother accept the award for Best Actor. Footage of her downright elated reaction was posted to the Facebook page of the charity set up in her honour, and it demands to be watched, right now:
Samuel focused on Connie during his eventual Gold Logies acceptance speech too, saying “she’s going out blazing” with an attempt to create the world’s longest line of coins, with the aim of donating the proceeds to cancer research.
Connie was understandably stoked on that one, too.
