WATCH: Jake Johnson Doesn’t Know When To Fold ‘Em In Netflix’s ‘Win It All’

Netflix might be going all guns blazing on the TV show front, but in terms of their original feature film output it’s been much more of a hit-and-miss affair.
Their debut feature film distribution, ‘Beasts of No Nation,’ remains their most critically successful offering to-date, with their slate of film releases since representing solid, if not mostly unspectacular, fare.
This newest offering probably isn’t going to break any records in terms of Rotten Tomatoes aggregate scores, but at the very least it should pique the interest of anyone familiar with modern American indie cinema.
Win It All‘ is set to arrive on Netflix come early April, and it carries with it a who’s-who cast of some of the current crop of US comedy.
Jake Johnson, who also co-wrote the script, stars as small-time gambler Eddie Garrett who agrees to look after a duffel bag for an acquaintance heading to prison. When he discovers that the bag is full of money, he can’t help himself and winds up blowing the lot. So when the aforementioned acquaintance suddenly gets his early release confirmed, Eddie only has a small window of time to win all that money back.
Joe Swanberg, who some of you may recognise as the prolific indie cinema force behind previous (really, really bloody good) offerings like ‘Drinking Buddies,’ ‘Happy Christmas,’ and Netflix anthology series ‘Easy,’ also co-wrote the script with Johnson, and sat in the director’s chair for the whole shebang.
It looks typically low-fi, heartfelt, and honestly kinda feckin’ great. Netflix released the first trailer for the film, which you can wrap your beady eyes around right sodding now.

As you can plainly see from that, the film also stars Keegan-Michael Key, Jo Lo Truglio, and Mexican actress Aislinn Derbez making her US feature film debut.
You’ll be able to stream the shite out of it come April 7th.
