Look, I’m going to level with you: I don’t have a lot of background to provide you with this video. What I have is a video of a man who in one instant is trying to dispose of a cigarette butt and in another is crawling on his belly because a massive fucking explosion just erupted from a hole in the ground.
The consensus seems to be that the CCTV footage is from Tehran, Iran and took place on roughly Monday. The video depicts one man calmly pouring what seems to be asphalt or maybe even extremely burnt coffee grounds into a hole before, 15 minutes later, our poor unsuspecting dart-smoker comes along with the remnants of a durry that he needs to dispose of.
Leading theories* seem to suggest that the hole goes straight down to the sewers and the butt has ignited a pocket of delicious, flammable methane. Here is a friendly tip: do not throw your ciggie butts into holes that might be full of explosive gas.
We have no idea how injured the poor bloke was, but he was at least well enough to crawl away from the hole. We wish him the best, wherever he is.
