Lists can be nauseating. But when December list-making coincides with the end of a decade it makes me want to punch stupid John Cusack right in his stupid mouth. This list however, Vogue Paris’ “Models Of The Decade” isn’t about justifying positions (it’s unordered), esoteric one-upmanship or populist pandering. It’s about celebrating beauty and those models who graced mood boards, magazine covers and runway shows throughout the undefinable aughts.
Aussies Gemma Ward and Catherine McNeil garnered mentions alongside the likes of Gisele Bundchen, Lily Cole, Lara Stone, Agyness Deyn, Freja Beha Erichsen, Jessica Stam and Karen Elson. But as is the case with lists of any kind there were some noteable exclusions including Kate Moss who actually warranted a A LIST OF HER VERY OWN and arguably the hottest model of the late 2000’s Abbey Lee Kershaw.
