If you love following photos from New York or Paris fashion week on The Sartorialist or Jak&Jil then you’d be no stranger to Vika Gazinskaya’s style. Her trademark bowl haircut and constantly evolving personal style has quickly gained her cult status around the globe. The Guardian recently included her in their list of the top 10 fashion e-cons of the internet, saying that: Vika is equivalent to Madonna in the fashion blogosphere. She requires no surname and no introduction.
If you wonder who her impaccable coats and structured dresses are by (her shoes are usually Roger Vivier), you may be surprised to discover that behind the perfect cut is a talanted designer brain.
Vika has five succesful collections behind her and she just showed spring-summer 2010 during Cycles & Seasons in Moscow.
Her latest collection combines a cold monochromatic color palette with subtle futuristic silhouettes of her signature cocoon dresses. Vika never does usual catwalks so every time you get an invitation, you know there’ll be drama and this time was no exception with the models interacting with life size fashion sketches.
