Trump Is Mouthing Off About A “Major” Conflict W/ North Korea So That’s Ace

US President Donald Trump, a man quite familiar with blowing shit way out of proportion, has said “there is a chance that we could end up having a major, major conflict with North Korea.” And there’s every chance he’s not making that up.

Speaking to Reuters about escalating tensions between the United States, its allies and Kim Jong Un’s hermetic society, President Trump said “we’d love to solve things diplomatically but it’s very difficult.”

That fact probably would have been obvious to anyone going into the Oval Office, but Donald Trump is Donald Trump. The situation is made so much more worrying by the fact that if negotiations do worsen, he now has access to the Big Red Button.

Stunningly, he also has access to a little red button – that is, the Coke delivery button – which Reuters even saw fit to mention in its write-up.

President Trump said he’d continue discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping about how best to keep North Korea from ramping up its missile testing and, god forbid, capability for viable nuclear weapons.

However, President Trump admitted “I know [President Xi Jinping] would like to be able to do something, perhaps it’s possible that he can’t.”
All of this comes just after North Korea claimed that an increased American military presence in the region, including the stationing of more than a thousand Marines and naval personnel in Darwin, was evidence that the US is gearing up for all-out war.

Everything is fine.
