The True Star Of NYFW Is Elon Musk’s Infinitely Chic 69-Year-Old Mother

Future king of MarsElon Musk, has a lot going for him.

For starters, the 46-year-old South African-born bloke is a billionaire. He’s got over $20 billion big ones in his bank account. He’s a business savant. He has either founded or had an integral role in massive companies like Tesla and PayPal. Most interestingly, he’s gearing up to revolutionise humanity by colonising Mars through his SpaceX program.

(Oh, and he totally sank piss at Splendour this year. Is that not the greatest achievement of all?)

But despite his genius and wealth, it turns out his mum is still infinitely cooler than him.

damn

The inventor’s life-giver, Maye Musk, is making serious waves this year at New York Fashion Week.

The 69-year-old (even her age is cool) mother-of-three has been modelling since she was just 15, but her appearances on the catwalk this year have left onlookers shook by her effortless style.

Cop a load of how swag she is:

On top of strutting and stunting on the catwalk and numerous NYFW red carpets, the sexagenarian is signed with global modelling agency IMG, and has appeared in campaigns for brands like Rag and Bone.

Turns out Maye has serious style and tenacity, having raised Elon and his two siblings solo after splitting from their father after nine years of marriage. She’s been an in-demand model since the ’70s, having graced the covers of Elle, Time and New York mag. She’s also an accredited dietitian.

Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, Maye expressed how surprised and glad she was to be working as a model five decades on.

“When I started modeling at 15, I was told it would all be over by 18. So, this is a complete surprise, a happy surprise at 69.”

69 bringing people happy surprises. Who’da thunk it.
