Street style photographer phenomenon Tommy Ton – who gained notoriety through his blog Jak & Jil – has shot the SS 11/12 campaign for local accessories label Oroton. With inspirations including I Am Love starring Tilda Swinton, the city of Paris and the music of Dizzy Gillespie, the shoot uses Manhattan as its urban background and employs US Marie Claire’s Style and Accessories Director, Taylor Tomasi Hill, as its stylist.

The images mimic Tommy’s signature street snaps, cropping off the subjects’ heads in favour of focusing on the accessories which range from oversized chic-as-hell portfolio clutches, jewel-encrusted mini purses, fringed hobos and satchels with loud leopard, zebra and snakeskin prints. Under the creative direction of Ana Maria Escobar since 2008, Oroton has been slowly shedding its snobby department store reputation, and by recruiting a blogger this campaign continues to reimagine the brand. Now to see if it converts into sales.
