Poking fun at the show we dearly love but readily admit is ripe for the spoofing, Tina Fey opened up SNL‘s new season this weekend with a spot on parody of GIRLS.
Taken to nauseatingly pretentious, white-girl privileged heights, Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna and Jessa are joined by their new ~ethnic~ BFF, an Albanian, heavily accented Tina Fey as Blerta. The strongest highlight comes towards the end, when Hannah’s pitch perfect croaky whining is met with sympathy from Blerta, who reassures her that being 15 means you’re allowed to be a complaining, hapless mess. “What the fuck is wrong with you” proceeds directly after when Hannah reminds her that she’s actually 24.
