Tiffany & Co Is Launching Engagement Rings For Men Because They Deserve A Lil’ Treat Too

Mega-jeweller Tiffany & Co is launching engagement rings for men and I am so here for a cultural shift where men get proposed to too.

It’s the first time in the brands 184 year history that they are selling engagement rings for men and honestly it’s about time. Not only is it cool for women to turn gender roles on its head and ask for a man’s hand in marriage, but it’s BIG for same-sex relationships too!

In a press release, Tiffany & Co said that the new line “honours the jeweller’s long standing legacy in love and inclusivity, paving the way for new traditions.”

According to a 2019 wedding report by fashion search platform Lyst, there was a 66% surge in interest for men’s engagement rings from 2018 to 2019.

Jewellery designer Narcisa Pheres reckons it’s a step in the right direction, telling CNN she found the idea of women proposing to men “quite romantic.”

“With all this feminism and women empowerment talk, why can’t we propose as well?” Pheres said.

“And since Tiffany (& Co) was the brand that pushed the diamond engagement ring to start with, it’s the perfect time for the brand to reinvent itself and adapt to the 21st-century consumer.”

I whole-heartedly agree. I need to be the one to propose because I’m extra AF. I haven’t quite ironed out all the details yet, but my proposal will 100% involve some kind of monkey and an orchestra.

At the moment, the rings will only be available at Tiffany & Co’s flagship store in New York. But it’s only a matter of time before these bad boys go global. A male ring renaissance is coming.
