The former President of the United States of America, the incomparable Barack Obama, is having a nice ol’ break after 8 years of presidential service and is right now getting lit as hell with Sir Richard Branson in the British Virgin Islands.

Our initial sign that Obama had clocked off and was now in vacay mode was the iconic flip of the cap, and now – we have kitesurfing photos.

Thanks to the good graces of a photographer called Jack Brockway, we now have possibly the greatest ever piccies of Obama.

The ex-Prez and Branson both challenged each other to learn one another’s fave water sport.

So, Branson learned to foilboard, and Obama learned to kitesurf. Then, they had a friendly battle with their new skills – Obama won.

They even made a video about it:

Branson posted a blog post about the vacay, and explains that Obama‘s love of the sea, surfing and water sports comes from him growing up in Hawaii, and that he put it and other personal hobbies aside for eight whole years in order to serve the US as president.

“One of the first stories Barack told me when he and Michelle arrived on Moskito Island was how, just before he became President, he had been surfing on a dangerous break in Hawaii.

When he came in from an exhilarating session, the new head of his security team turned to him and said: “This will be the last time you surf for eight years.”

For the next eight years he didn’t have the chance to surf, enjoy watersports or do many of the things he loved.”

So yaaayyyyyyy – Barack gets to surf again!
