The Uniform Project – 1 dress, 356 days

Repeat offending in the fashion world is like total social suicide. But one lady has thrown that ideal in every fashionistas face and made a name for herself doing just that.

Instead of repeat offending once of twice or god forbid three times, Sheena Matheiken pledged to wear only one dress for an entire year to raise funds for the Akanksha Foundation, who’s helps kids pay for school uniforms in the Indian slums, under the cleverly coined name The Uniform Project.

I know what you’re thinking, you could wear the same clothes every day no problem. But that’s just it, each day she posts a photo wearing something that doesn’t even remotely look like the day before.

It leaves you wondering, †how the hell can a chick with one dress look so much cooler than I can ever hope to be and I’ve got an entire wardrobe at my beck and call’. Yeah it sucks to be born without the creative gene doesn’t it?

Just to make you question your †oh so boring’ style a little bit more, Matheiken recreates her little black dress each and every day only with the help of donated, hand made or vintage additions.

But it’s all for a good cause so you can’t even hold that little bit of resentment. Instead you should donate via her website or when you throw up your hands saying something along the lines of †oh I’ve got nothing to wear’. First slap yourself then think about creating a whole new and improved outfit from the ones you already own. A scarf here, a layer there or maybe your dress up wardrobe could become your new work attire, it’d make for some pretty interesting lunch room chat being spoken about you.

Check out Sheena and how it all came about.
