That Crazy Self-Lacing Nike Sneaker Is About To Drop In The States

If you’re a religious follower of sneaker news, you’re well aware Nike have made the future happen early with their HyperAdapt 1.0, which is basically their modern take on the iconic Nike Mag‘s from Back To The Future II.

Well, start screaming prematurely because it’s legit official – the hyped new kicks are on counter in the States as of the end of this month. HELL YEAH.

The HyprAdapt 1.0 will be in US stores as of August 30, so start planning your entire holiday period around where you can score a pair.

What’s the deal with the sneaks, you ask? Well – they literally do self-lace.

“When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten,” explains Tiffany Beers, Senior Innovator, Nike. “Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.”

Nike did release the actual Nike Mag back in 2011 and 2016 – and while they looked unreal and exactly like the 80’s film version, they were minus the iconic self-lacing feature.

Think self-lacing is all for show?  Nope – Nike say these babies are all about adapting to your perfect fit, which leads to ~performance enhancement~.

While we will prob have to wait a lil’ longer to get these babies in our stores, the good news is they’re planning a bunch of new colour-ways, so you’ll truly get your pick of the sneaker litter.
