THANK FUCK: The XXXX Brewery Fire Will Not Affect Supply Of Milton Mangoes

It might’ve been doom and gloom for Queenslanders facing an apocalyptic-like situation, but today residents of the Daylight Savings-less state can breathe an enormous sigh of relief.

The fire at the XXXX Brewery will not affect beer supply.
Yesterday, fire crews in inner-Brisbane attended a blaze that sparked at the iconic brewery, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air, and striking fear into the hearts of all self-respecting QLD residents; clutching their maroon scarves while howling “Queenslander!” to the sky in a solemn prayer to the lord almighty King Wally.

The fire began just after 5pm yesterday afternoon in a boiler room of the brewery plant. Fire crews investigating the scene confirmed that a malfunctioning transformer was to blame for the blaze that brought peak-hour traffic in Brisbane to a standstill.

It took 40 firefighters around an hour to bring the blaze under control, which fortunately caused no injuries to workers present inside the building; all of whom were evacuated and accounted for by emergency personnel.
But what could have been an utter disaster for Queenslanders in the middle of peak-Milton Mango season (read: literally any day of the year) has turned into a miraculous story of survival.
The brewery will be fine, and the supply of beer will continue unabated.
XXXX parent company Lion confirmed that the blaze would not cause any disruption of supply.
It’s precisely the good news story that our beloved Queensland brethren needs – nay, deserves in these trying times.
Enjoy a frosty cold gold one tonight, dear pals. And a very good eight-in-a-row to you all.
