No one should be jealous of a thirteen year old. No one. You know why? Because it’s the most grueling part of young adulthood. You’re too young to make your own decisions but too old to go unpunished when you fuck up. Plus there’s the whole cusp of puberty thing and that’s just awkward for everyone. In short we should be feeling sorry for thirteen year olds not jealous of them.
Unless of course your name is Tavi, a sagely 13 year old fashion blogger who recently interrogated Kim Gordon, Kirtsen Dunst, Elijah Wood and Jason Schwartzman at Rodarte for Target’s runway show. Tavi also quizzed the sisters Mulleavy, Kate and Laura, about the inspiration behind Rodarte’s Target line and tagged along for the editors preview, lookbook and ad campaign shoots.
To bring some Haterade to the table Tavi naysayers have noticed a slight disparity between the way she vocalizes her ideas and the way she writes and I tend to agree. But then the whole Where The Wild Things Are wonder of childhood vibe kicks in, supersedes the jealousy and crushes every accusatory bone in my body. This is way too cute.
