Tassie Aquatic Centre Names Slide “Harambe” And Offers Touching Tribute

Truly of all the apes that have ever lived, he was the most noble. Nobler even than King Kong, who died for love, or the gorilla from the film ‘Mighty Joe Young‘, who I believe was named Joe
Harambe: we barely even got to know him before he was unfairly murdered just for using his huge muscles to try play with a toddler like the toddler was a ragdoll.
While he might be immortal in precious, dank memedom, he has had very few actual, sincere tributes to his majestic apeness, but, luckily, the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre has (briefly) stepped up to the plate.
After holding a competition to choose who would name their paradoxically elephant-shaped new slide, they posted this beautiful message announcing the winner:
Truly, unlike other people who have treated Harambe as some sort of sick “joke”, the Aquatic Centre have truly embraced the spirit of Harambe.
Weirdly though, they deleted the post shortly after, in addition to the post announcing the competition. Thank God some genius on Reddit took a screenshot.
It remains to be seen whether they become suspect when so many people shared the post or whether they just deleted it in order to make a bigger, more ceremonious announcement in the daylight hours.
RIP Harambe (The Ape Who Died).
