Here’s the fairer sex companion collection to New Zealand label Stolen Girlfriends Club’s Summer 12/13 offering ‘Hello Country/Goodbye Nightclub.’ Where the menswear component had a distinct collegiate grunge feel, the mood here is slightly more tailored, but nonetheless just as twisted as its ne’er do well gentleman friend.
As with the men’s collection, there are the same noxious floral prints on a variety of wearable separates. An ample dose of crochet has also been weaved into the mix for good measure and a distinctly 90s feel and there are some standout leather pieces in an anarchic peplum biker vest and a mock croc mini perfect for whenever you next decide to go club-hopping/hell-raising.
The lookbook was shot by Derek Henderson in Sydney and the collection is expertly worn by Gunita, whose ample appendages provide the perfect canvas for the label’s killer accessories (that backpack) and new jewellery collection, New Metal. Bonus points for awesome taxidermy.
