What is the cutest, most loveable animal in the entire known universe, mates? Yes, it is the quokka. Those lil’ sweet baby angels that live on Rottnest Island and happily post for selfies with us lowly human beings, never complaining, never not grinning like adorable fools.
You would never want to harm something so perfect and blessed, would you? Well, you wouldn’t, fair reader, because you are a kind and well-adjusted soul who knows when something is too pure for this world, and you are also not a piece of human shaped garbage. Basically, you are not THIS. FUCKING. GUY.
That guy, whose name we do not know, was filmed by a bystander chasing one of the Rottnest native animals around a tree, kicking it twice – one kick which saw it hit the wall. And if that’s not bad enough, it seems like this shithead had an accomplice – WA Today obtained the footage, and in the background you can hear someone laughing like this is all a fucking joke. Pre-warning that the clip below is pretty upsetting.
The video has since been passed on to the WA Police and the Department of Parks and Wildlife are aware of the incident as well.
“We are aware of the incident and we are assisting WA Police with their investigation,” they said in a statement.
This isn’t the first time terrible excuses for humans have tried to harm or fuck with these little creatures. In 2015 two tourists burnt a quokka and were put in jail for it, and another teenager copped a measly $2500 fine for kicking one two metres in the air. Like, what the fuck guys. Do you not have souls.
Can we all just not be assholes and respect other animals/humans? That’d be great.
