Rihanna’s Suing Her Dad For Doing A Dodgy On Her Fenty Empire

It turns out that not even Rihanna, absolute BOSS bish, is immune to family members tryna milk her fame.

According to TMZ, who claims to have obtained info about the lawsuit in question, Rihanna is apparently suing her father Ronald Fenty for unauthorised use of the ‘Fenty‘ trademarked name.

The lawsuit specifically cites Ronald’s talent development business, titled Fenty Entertainment, which has a clear resemblance to Rihanna’s own Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty style ventures.

Initially you can’t but feel kind of bad for the guy because his name was, arguably, Fenty first, right?

But rather than Ronald trying to set up his own company, independent of his daughter’s fame, the lawsuit allegedly claims that Ronald and his business partner have deliberately made out that their company is associated with Rihanna.

“Rihanna says her father and a business partner falsely advertised themselves as her reps to solicit millions of dollars, including trying to book her for 15 shows in Latin America in December 2017 for $15 mil … all without her authorization,” writes TMZ.

Ooooooft, okay that’s sketchy as heck.

Imagine hearing that your dad had just suddenly gone off and booked you an entire tour without even asking? She’s probs like ‘um, dafuq dad? can you not?’

The lawsuit supposedly goes on to detail how Rihanna has sent multiple ‘cease and desist’ letters to her father, but they have all been ignored, suggesting that this isn’t just some honest mistake.

Naturally, the singer is reportedly asking for damages along with an injunction on old mate Ron, preventing him from using the ‘Fenty’ name.

For those unfamiliar with just how big Ri’s style empire is, in 2017 Fenty Beauty made Time Magazine‘s ‘Best Inventions of 2017’ list, and, since then, has gone from strength to strange.

So no, soz Ron, you cannot stand under her Fenty umbrella.
