Richard Branson On The Search For Mystery Virgin Model

We realise that the phrase “mystery virgin model” might have been a poorly chosen headline that could spark a rabbit hole of weird Google search options, but interstellar transport pioneer Richard Branson genuinely IS looking for a Virgin model. It seems like Sir Richard is having an adverse bout of nostalgia, when he issued a blog post earlier today appealing to fans and followers to help him identify and track down the woman who modeled for the original Virgin Records campaign during the brand’s humble beginnings in 1973.

Sir Richard writes: The model in the image appeared again and again as the logo evolved, starting off in our mail order record service when I was 20 years old. It was still present when we launched Virgin Records in 1973.

However, we have sadly lost track of her. We think she is now living in Australia, and would love to track her down.

If you look at the black and white photograph below you’ll see the mystery model sitting naked which inspired the original artwork that was vamped and revamped throughout the years to create the famed Virgin Records logo that we know today. Now, 40 long years after the brand’s inception, Branson would like to celebrate the anniversary by re-uniting with her for another shoot – with pants, if she prefers.

Do you know this woman?
