QLD Developers’ New Insta-Translate Chat App Could Legit Change Ya Eurotrip

Prepare for at least one of your travel-related anxieties to be suddenly and surprisingly eased: Queensland developers have launched a real-time translation app, DoTalk, that hopes to make communicating across language barriers much easier (and less ridiculous) than Google Translate
DoTalk is free, and allows users to translate up to 90 different languages in their messaging service, and up to 50 using instant voice translation, as well as group chat that supports up to 10 different languages at once. That means that you can text the hot French guy you met in English, and he’ll receive your messages in accurate French (and vice versa). No more language snafus, and no need for hours of study with that smug Duolingo owl.
Founder of DoTalk Reno Nicastro said in a statement:
Our goal with DoTalk was to create a free, fun and easy-to-use app which provides an open forum for people to easily connect and communicate, regardless of language barriers or location and without delay.
DoTalk already has users in a bunch of countries, with the most frequently translated languages being English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, French and Indonesian. It’s currently available (once again, for free!) from the App Store and GooglePlay.
This one could be a game changer for people who travel regularly without a local bilingual guide to help ’em out. Every day we’re closer to the Hitchhiker’s Guide version of the future, and I am LOVING IT.
