Oh man. The tale of Egg the Pug, the poor, sweet doggo who died gets worse.
A local court has today heard that Egg’s body was dumped in the Parramatta River, after he died choking on a dog treat.
Owner Quishi Xia pleaded guilty to making a false report in Burwood Court today, telling 7 News that his lie about the dognapping at knifepoint spiralled out of a need to keep Egg’s death a secret from his girlfriend.
“I didn’t want my girlfriend to find out about her dog’s death cause he’s the second dog I’ve lost okay,” he said.
“I did all of this to cover the fact that the dog died.”
The couple had previously owned another pug together – named ‘Pepper‘ – who died after choking on a dog toy.
Xia had reported Egg stolen on February 7 this year, claiming that thee men had abducted the 14-week-old pup while he was walking him around Sydney Olympic Park.
Xia was today charged with making a false representation resulting in a police investigation.
